RER will also establish waiting and briefing areas for family/relatives of those involved in serious
accidents. Food and a sitting/sleeping area will also be provided to members of the family and relatives,
as appropriate.
In providing information to the public, the HSSE Manager and the External Affairs Manager will provide
information on the following:
Description of the event
Identification of the population that might be affected
Description of any injuries and disposition of those involved in the accident
Identification of any existing hazards
Description of precautions taken to limit future risks
Identification of contaminated water sources (if any)
Description of mitigation measures that are proposed or have been taken to correct the problem
